Family Camp 2016

Hello!

Talk has started  about the family camp for this next year and we have decided to stay close (to most of us). We will be going up to Pine Valley where Christie's family has a little cabin. Most everyone, unless you have a strong desire to stay inside, will camp out on the grass. There is a decent size area so everyone can have a little space. We will be able to use the bathroom in there (probably avoid too many showers but if your kid is nasty or you really need a shower its ok). We can also use the kitchen to do some cooking but they do have a great grill outside and a fire pit for normal camping food.

We are thinking since we will be saving money on gas and no camping fee (unless you would like to donate 10 dollars or so for the electric and plumbing bill) we can do some other fun stuff: like go rollerskating in Veyo, go to Veyo pool/climbing, or have a Veyo pie night where each family brings a pie or two from Veyo Pies.

(If you have Dixie Direct, it had something about the skating rink in there.)

Some other activities will include some hike of course and maybe a movie night.

We are wanting to go up in June so it is still cool enough. The dates we are thinking are either

June 9-11 - M and D can't go here.  Dad will be on a hike with Stake YM then. Weed and Derek-Youth Conference.

Or

June 16-17-Derek, but Weed and the kids will still come.

Or

June 29-July 2 Looks like this is the date!

Please put your family name next to the date that WILL NOT work. We are hoping with planning this early we may avoid conflicts but if  both weeks don't work we will have to look into July.

We will do food sign up as it gets closer:)

Thanks!

-Moss and Christie

Hey Moss and Christie - I had someone give me a flag to retire today and I thought it would be cool for us to have a real campfire program one evening during family camp.  We could have every family do a song or a skit, have some run ons and do the flag retirement ceremony for the finale and have Jay play taps on his harmonica.  All of the boys who are Cubs and Brady could assist us if they wear their uniforms.  I know Zade and maybe Gaige can pass off some Cub requirements if we have this kind of a campfire program.  We could even have them do a flag ceremony at the beginning.  It would be cool since it's so close to the 4th I think!  Dad and I would be glad to head it up.  Let us know what you think.  Maybe Friday night?

If everyone is OK with it we could have this be our family talent night as well.  You might want to think patriotic since the 4th will be coming right up or not.  If you have a Cub Scout, check out their things that they need to pass off as far as camping and campfire skits, run-ons, songs.  They could pass this stuff off here with family.  I will send Zade and Gaige what I find in their books and then you can figure out if you want to pass anything off at Family Camp.

Right now the Randalls are very flexible. We can go whenever.

I just found out -- i'm not totally crazy, I am pregnant! Yay! We are very excited but not due until mid-august so any of these dates work for us. Don't judge if we show up in a full RV though :)

So far it looks as though these dates will work for us. However, we are a little uncertain as to what to expect if Ryan gets a job as an NP before this time. I guess we'll just do our best to try to make it to the campout with whoever in our family can come!
