Family Camp 2008
Brynn joined us this time along with Bean and Genghis. Lance found the spot up by Kanosh. The lava caves and hot spring pool were fun places to visit. We camped in a spot along the road to a campground. It was a little cramped since we are getting to be so many. The dates were June 12-13th according to when the pictures were taken. It was pretty low so we went early so we wouldn't be too hot.
PRINT OUT THESE DIRECTIONS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET LOST! :)
It is up Corn Creek Canyon near Kanosh, which is about 17 miles south of Fillmore.
-Fillmore is almost exactly half way between St. George & Salt Lake (so about 2hr 15 min drive)
-Take the Kanosh exit (south exit from St George, north exit from SLC)
-Drive to the South end of the town of Kanosh and turn East on Corn Creek Road (300 South)
-Drive on Corn Creek/Canyon road for about 5 1/2 miles (past Adelaide Campground) until just before the dirt road crosses over Corn Creek on a small bridge. There should be a road with a sign which heads east/left which says "corn creek" (if i remember right).
-The sight is about a half mile up this rough dirt road, next to, or just across Corn Creek.
-There is a small chance we may find a better spot up "North Fork of Corn Creek" which breaks off the main dirt road a mile or so before the Adelaide Campground. If we change to this site, we will post a note both next to the sign that says "north fork corn creek" as well as one on the sign by the above site which says "corn creek" (just before the little bridge I mentioned above).
Those with cars can get shuttled up the rough part.
There is both potable water and restrooms at Adelaide Campground less than 3 miles away for those interested.
