Family Camp 2009 was held up in the Tuschar Mountains above Beaver. It was just a few miles down the road from where we camped at the other one up there. It was Brenden's first year I think. We had everyone there except Bean. JJ came along for fun and was a really big help. Supe and JJ set up that great tarp and it was good since we got a little rain. There was a fun fishing/canoeing outing to LaBarron Lake, Frisbee tossing and kite flying and good food, of course. It was a lovely time with nice cool weather even thought it was July 29-30th. The rain helped a lot.
Directions: Drive to Beaver - turn east at the little grocery store - on SR153. Stay on SR 153 going past Puffer Lake where the road turns to gravel. Continue on past Big Flat and several more miles to road #137. Go about 4 miles to LeBaron Lake, then turn right at the first right after LeBaron Lake (it's not marked with a sign). Take the next left (there's a right - don't go there). It may say 147. Follow that around. There will be a big meadow on your right. Go along the meadow, through some trees and then take the next left - it's marked #147A - it curves left and into another beautiful meadow. We will camp at the end of the road. If that happens to be full, we can head to the the next left (very close) and head down that road. When you see 147B go just a smidgen further and take the right #2389 (the sign is not seen until you are heading down the road a little). It winds through some trees for a while and then comes out onto another really nice meadow. There is an established fire pit - that's where we would want to set up.
