If Cascade Falls doesn't pan out...

I dug in my map box and found a cool map that lists hikes in the Cedar City Ranger District by category. Category 1 is probably what we will want - "trails receive considerable use due to their proximity to large campgrounds or other popular recreation areas. Day hiking by inexperienced hikers and children are common. These trails are usually less than one mile in length and are usually very scenic and interpretive." For the diverse group we have that sounds about right probably. I have trail descriptions of some of the trails also. We can look them over and see what looks like fun. (I'm going to have to do some walking or I'll be rolling after eating all the good food that seems to be in abundance at these get togethers.) It would be fun to go to the top of Brian Head Peak to the old building there and see the buena vista from up there along with whatever else we do. Any who have park passes please bring them and that way if we decide we want to do some hikes leaving from Cedar Breaks we might be able to cram together and be covered. We have one and Supe has one. Anybody else have one?

P.S. Let's make fishing an ancillary activity please and not the main event if that jives with everyone.

Bryan just saw this morning on KSL that Cascade Falls is open now, so that's a hike we can do.
I agree about the fishing thing! Those who want to should find their own time to do it and not expect those who don't love it to schedule around them. Yankee Meadow is close. It's a place where people fish and there are some really great spots for wading, too. Maybe we could all go. We went a few days ago, not for fishing, and the water was really a nice temperature. We loved it! Also, depending on lunch plans, there is a nice picnic area right on the way to Yankee Meadows, and it's free.
